This movie is awsome. I first saw this film in 1983 when i was 15 on a TV display called "Night Flight" (anybody remember it? ), fell head over heels in esteem w/ teenage Diane Lane & have never forgotten the impact this film made on me & watching it recently brought wait on many memories. I have been looking for this film for 20yrs & i finally found a copy! It basically tells a very cynical & realistic account totally bashing the music industry. Young female nobody has ambition to be somebody, forms a band called The Stains with her cousins (one, a very young Laura Dern), goes on the unglamorous rough & lonely road with 2 other very chauvenistic rival male bands--a has-been-on-its-last-legs headliner & an up & coming punk band. Fee Waybill of the Tubes is huge as the has-been & Paul Cook of The Sex Pistols has another colossal role as the lead singer of the punk band. BTW, the songs in this movie are very marvelous & very catchy---you will score yourself singing "We're the Professionals!" for days! As the girls rise to the top theyre punk hair, clothes & attitude become a symbol of young female power & all the rage with young girls everywhere. theyre slogan "We Dont Place Out" becames the anthem of girl power that sweeps the nation. Theyre rise to the top is squashed by the backstabbing music industry & the conservative male dominated American media. The fluffy MTV styled video at the extinguish is the icing on the cake! This movie is awsome because it takes on so many issues without ever losing the central fable of this film or becoming cheesy or preachy. They really dont earn movies like this anymore & I can say that this film is an unequivical classic with Diane Lane putting on the performance of her life. wow! what an actress. Even the so-called "indie" films of today try too hard to be "repulsive" & impartial ruin up being predictible & exploitative, never coming cessation to the realistic telling-it-like-it-is nature of this film. The thing I dont understand is why this film is never shown & why its never mentioned. I hear there is a "Making of Ladies & Gents The Fantastic Stains" with all the actors talking about this film that i would Adore to obtain. This movie was also a stout inspiration to Courtney Like ive also heard. Check this film out if you can collect it!!!!
Next to "The Gigantic Rock n Roll Swindle", and perhaps equally as "D.O.A.-A Legal of Passage", this film is a top must have for any punk aficionado. The fictional band in the film, The Looters, features 2 sex PistOls (Paul Cook and Steve Jones) and Clash bassist Paul Simonon performing amazing rock, with 2 songs unavailable on any recording. It's worth it for that alone.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Ladies And Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains! Also of label is Brit actor Ray Winstone, who plays the Looters' frontman. As far as underground rebel rock movies go, it doesn't come by noteworthy better.
Magazine Organizers
Ab Belt

The Madagascar 2 movie is a expansive flick, corpulent of fun and witty lines. If you liked the first movie, this is more of the same, if not better and probably satisfactory of five stars. The second DVD featuring two Carve Penguin shorts for a total of about 25 minutes of video, isn't worth the additional cost, in my concept. The first Madagascar release had a Penguin animation short included as an extra on the movie disc, whereas the novel one has two shorts and charges the buyer for the priviledge. And frankly, I view that the two penguin cartoons, while a bit droll, were a bit of a disappointment. If one is a Staunch fan of the Gash Penguins, then you'll need to collect this DVD dwelling. Otherwise, I would recommend unbiased getting the main feature and effect yourself the $7.
Dreamworks' fascinating films have not been able to acquire a candle to caliber of Disney/Pixar films, but let's face it: who can? That said, Madagascar 2 is learning from Pixar at the very least. Intelligent films work when they are able to successfully blend humor, heart, and a satisfactory epic to hold the audience sustained for at least 90 minutes.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Madagascar - Escape 2 Africa/Nick Penguins 2-Disc Move It, Move It, Double DVD Pack! It's probably less than 5 minutes, but already station the tone for the heart of the relate, which focuses chiefly on Alex fitting in with his fellow lions. The other chief characters are also stumbling as they interact with their occupy in Africa.

Also support is the humor. I sometimes feel like the movies would be funnier if the penguins had more hide time, but they are mild amusing in whatever scenes they're in. The granny who beat up Alex in the first film is also support for some humor. The humor is better and more consistent than the first.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Madagascar - Escape 2 Africa/Nick Penguins 2-Disc Move It, Move It, Double DVD Pack! The chracters are a miniature bit better here than in the first and it has a honorable heart, but sometimes they don't exercise as long on the emotional aspect as they could. It is an intimate, lavish, round the world tour of coffee farms, coffee house meccas, interviews with experts, growers, and baristas who exude a religious ferver for the art of brewing the dismal gold! It is also romantically filmed, and narrated with appropriate music. The fantastic rich history, and legends are included. It is believed that the bean was first discovered by goats in Ethiopia, which attracted the attention of the goatherder, and he too was entranced. There is even a connection between Moby Dick and the Starbucks chain. The name "coffee" may have derived from the Ethiopian province "Kaffa". Once in Arabia it was called the "Wine of Arabia" and was served in wine glasses. The bean has spawned coffee cultures and counter cultures and even as we reveal there is disaster for the future of quality harvests and enough afficianados to mantain the high slay market of the trade. A world leader committed suicide and a potentate once declared the bean to be unpleasant and infamous, but later, a Pope tested it and gave it his Blessing! Here is a three disc armchair tour from the vine to your loving cup.

Paramount Home Video had originally scheduled to release "Darling Lili" on DVD in April, but it was pulled from the release schedule with no explanation. Now they have objective announced that the film will be released October 25, 2005!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Darling Lili! However, anything with Julie Andrews in it has a cult following, and I've always felt that it was unprejudiced a matter of time before this film was finally made available.

Darling Lili is not a substantial movie by any means, but it's quite exquisite with magnificent music, nice cinematography, costumes, and plot accomplish. The story's not especially memorable, but Julie and Rock Hudson have kindly chemistry and give it their best shot. This was the sort of sophisticated, light comedy/drama that was well-liked in the Sixties and, if made fair a few years earlier, would have starred either Doris Day, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, or Shirley MacLaine. However, by the time of its release in 1970, this type of film had fallen on hard times--plus being a musical did not befriend its appeal at the box office.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Darling Lili! Click Here
Let's hope that Paramount decides to finally release the full-length version on DVD soon (as opposed to the shortened version that turns up occasionaly on cable) and gives us a radiant transfer that is enthralling, saturated, and free from debris.
DARLING LILI is a sure delight, though sadly the film was a ample box-office flop and virtually sunk Andrews' film career until "10", S.O.B. and VICTOR/VICTORIA came along a decade later. This film stars Andrews as Lili Smith, a graceful and adored singing star in England who moonlights as a WW1 German glance. One night, "Uncle Kurt" (Jeremy Kemp) gives Lili her latest assignment: Major Bill Larrabee (Rock Hudson) . Lili must originate Larrabee descend in cherish with her, and hopefully let lumber some essential confidential information that could reach in handy for the Germans. Once Lili has Bill firmly in her sights, it becomes distinct that this is not her usual "kiss-and-tell" seduction job....she has truly fallen in like with him.

Julie Andrews simply glows as Lili, and delivers a deft performance. Although she indeed plays a eye working for the "Enemy", the audience oddly enough loves her anyway and wants her to sprint in the tension-filled final sequence. Rock Hudson is a funny and romantic delight as Larrabee. The befriend cast includes Lance Percival, Gloria Paul, Jacques Marin, Doreen Keogh and Bernard Kay.

The musical catch by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer is truly magnificent, one of the best of the entire decade. When Andrews emerges out of the blackness in the first scene to insist "Whistling Away the Sunless", it is indeed one of those chill-inducing moments. Andrews' musicality in this film was quite accomplished; she sings with a smokey timbre in her relate which she rarely displayed before or after DARLING LILI. Other choice moments arrive in the Music Hall-schmaltz of "I'll Give You Three Guesses" and the sobering "Girl in No Man's Land". Costume designer Donald Brooks decks Julie out in a fine array of period-perfect ensembles (he also costumed Julie in STAR!) .

The film was nominated for 3 Academy Awards that year: Best Costume Form (Donald Brooks) ; Best Song "Whistling Away the Dim" (music Henry Mancini, lyrics Johnny Mercer) ; and Best Music Scoring (Henry Mancini) .

I simply admire this film. DARLING LILI was never made available on videocassette, and appeared only rarely on cable. Director Blake Edwards, in a exclaim to get the film more luscious for audiences following it's disastrous theatrical release, re-cut the film in a "Director's Slash", and that is the version you secure on this DVD. The fresh theatrical length was 136 mins (the "Director's Lop" runs for a brisk 107 mins, not counting Overture and Exit Music sequences) . The transfer is very inviting and the audio is offered in both 5.1 and 2-channel stereo. The slit scenes are all offered as bonus material, so in finish the entire film is here, albeit in pieces. Paramount might hopefully release the uncut LILI one day, but until then, you could do a lot worse than the "Director's Gash". Highly-recommended from this corner.

POSTSCRIPT (29th May 2007) : DARLING LILI is now available in it's fresh uncut compose, via the current Paramount DVD editions from the UK and Australia.
underwater digital cameras
paintball tank

A immense yarn about a Nelwyn named Willow (Warwick Davis) who finds a baby in the river. It turns out that this baby, named Elora Dannan, is fraction of a profecy that was said to slay the snide Queen Bavmorda when the child grew older. Willow sets out on an adventure with a warrior named Madmartigan (Val Kilmer) to assign the baby from being killed by the queen. Fairies, trolls, dragons and sorcerers magic bring this yarn to life by the talents of Industrial Light and Magic. My approved scene is when all these fairies are flying around in the woods and the head fairy Shalindria gives Willow her wand and tells him to protect the baby and how considerable his quest is to the whole kingdom. The brownies are very silly too. One of them is played by Kevin Pollack. I highly recommend this movie for people that really like fantasy and adventure.
What do you catch when you have George Lucas AND Ron Howard, both renowned for their work in the movie-making industry, producing and directing this movie? You've got it, a astonishing, rollicking fantasy-adventure!
The substandard Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh) has for years been searching for the baby who, according to an feeble prophecy, will raze her reign of dismay. Taking all the pregnant women, she searches each and every baby when one day, the sacred girl is born. But before Bavmorda could destroy her, a faithful midwife takes the child away from the castle. When she realizes she is being pursued, she lets the baby drift away on a river. The abandoned girl is found by a Nelwyn named Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis) . But Willow mercurial finds out that the baby is being tracked down Bavmorda's armies, including her daughter Sorsha (Joanne Whalley) and General Kael (Pat Roach) . Willow sets out to the crossroads to give the baby benefit to the Daikini, or the large humans. He finds out though through the magical Cherlindrea (Maria Holvoe) about the baby, Elora Danan (played by both Ruth and Kate Greenfield) and the prophecy about her. Willow, with the companionship of swordsman and warrior Madmartigan (Val Kilmer) and Brownies Rool and Franjean (Kevin Pollak & Rick Overton), they go to examine wait on from sorceress Fin Raziel (Patricia Hayes) .
A totally charming movie, "Willow" will be one of my accepted movies to look for a long time. Though people must be warned that though it is rated PG, it's more like PG-13 in some areas and I strongly suggest that adults leer before their children do.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Willow! Click Here
Everything is fantastic about the movie, from the directing, the acting by the whole cast, an engrossing situation, fair wonderful special effects, and plenty of humor and action. There's humor that is witty, sarcastic, and laugh-out-loud humorous. Val Kilmer as Madmartigan and the two Brownies gets plenty of ample lines. Yet at the same time the movie is ravishing serious with all of the battles against ample and execrable, and Val Kilmer is a large swash-buckling swordfighter and handles the sword radiant well.
And this DVD isn't called "Special Edition" for no reason. Though it may not have as many special features as many current movie special editions, "Willow" will satisfy you. 1) Commentary by Warwick Davis, 2) Willow: Making of an Adventure Featurette, 3) Featurette: Morf to Morphing, 4) Behind-the-Scenes Composed Gallery, 5) Theatrical Teasers and Trailers, 6) 8 TV Spots, and a few more. One thing you must peep is the 'Making of an Adventure Featurette'. Looking at an older Ron Howard with his mustache certainly was a cramped shock to me after seeing him play Opie on the "Andy Griffith Prove" and acting in "Glad Days". One piece that was fun about it is when they were talking about the savor scenes in the movie. Val Kilmer admits that whenever he had to kiss Joanne Whalley, afterwards he always forgot his lines and no matter how many times they had to do it, he never got it proper. They were married after making the movie but unfortunately, they were divorced later on.
So if you are thinking about getting "Willow", I strongly recommend that you look it! Exquisite for the whole family, if your children are musty enough to handle some parts of the film. And if you have a chance to check out the quotes and trivia page on Amazon, I suggest you do because you can derive out all sorts of things.
Ab Toning Belt
Shoe Cabinet

This DVD did not have closed caption or subtitle to allow deaf people like me to relish it. Am disappointed.
"Iron Man: Armoured Adventures" did NOT have me with confidence when it first came to light. After the vast success of the live-action movie, the news that the series would be presenting Tony Stark as a teenager seemed an unnecessary storytelling procedure (the movie didn't need to manufacture the character younger in order to sell him to a younger audience, why should the cartoon? ), and compounding that was the fact that it harkened abet to a very unpopular period from the character's history in the mid-90s, when he was replaced with a teenage version of himself. After all, by removing the adult Stark from the equation, you catch the opportunity to say some of his greatest stories, like the seminal, alcohol-fuelled "Demon in a Bottle", or his many tales of loves lost and won. The concurrent age-regression of many of his supporting cast like James Rhodes, Pepper Potts and Ecstatic Hogan was a coarse accompanying shock, albeit a neeeded one to acquire the ensemble work. The discovery that his arch-enemy, the Mandarin, recieved the same treatment, however, was very nearly the last straw for me, as this honest wasn't *necessary* the contrivance it was with his friends and allies. What was next, I wondered? The Melter, science geek who creates a raygun in the shcool lab? Whiplash, sports jock illustrious for his locker-room rat-tails? Fin Fang Foom, cabin boy of an alien spacecraft, able only to breathe flame when he sneezed? Top it all off with some flat-out monstrous cel-shaded CGI animation, and redesigns of supervillains that made them contemplate nothing like themselves, and I resolved that "Armored Adventures" was not the point to for me.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Iron Man: Armored Adventures, Vol. 1! Click Here

And then... it... got... Genuine. Barrelling through all of my greivances, the indicate began juggling multiple ongoing plotlines (Tony's struggle to reclaim his company from Obadaiah Stane, Tony and the Mandarin's quest for the Makluan rings, the war between the Mandarin's Tong and the criminal Maggia, the terrorists of AIM working on their MODOK project...), brought in guest characters from all over the Marvel universe, forging all the character relationships I expected and *wanted* to witness (Pepper's crush on Tony, Tony and Rhodey's strained relationship over Tony's lying and manipulation), and made the absolute *most* it possibly could of Iron Man's admittedly limp rogue's gallery (you've got the Mandarin, and everyone after that is C-level at best), refraining from de-age-ing any characters build for Madame Masque, and eventually even refining their form process so that characters like the Ghost, the Sunless Knight and the Shadowy Panther *looked like* their comic-book selves, where Mandarin, Blizzard, Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo had been unrecognizable, uninspired jumbles of indistinct armor. Breaking down every barrier that stood in its plan, even those very barriers that were built into the show's basic opinion, "Armored Adventures" has absolutely succeeded in being a pleasurable version of Iron Man, and a spacious superhero cartoon that easily outstrips its contemporary, "Wolverine and the X-Men," in my book. It's not quite "The Spectacular Spider-Man", but it's a country mile better than some of the other entertaining offerings Marvel has given us over the years.

So, if you have any of the hang-ups about the demonstrate that I did when it began that have kept you from watching it, do yourself a favour and give it another try. The two-part pilot throws a lot of the concepts that you may have misfortune with at you all at once, but it's all uphill from there.

"Indian Summer" is a incredible film saluting "the Golden Era" of Camp Tamakwa (a exact camp in the Canadian/New York wilderness), but it's also about reconnecting with youth, friends, appreciate and nature. Uncle Lou (Alan Arkin), Camp Tamakwa's camp supervisor for many years, invites campers from "the Golden Era" (the early to mid 1970s) as a reunion of sorts, and a group of friends and ex-campers obtain the race aid to the woods and their youth. Matt (Vincent Spano) and Kelly (Julie Warner) are on vacation to "work on their marriage;" Matt's having a mid-life crisis, and Kelly objective wants to know where she stands. Jennifer (Elizabeth Perkins) is Matt's ex-camp-girlfriend and Kelly's best friend, swept away by the nostalgia of camp. Brad (Kevin Pollack) is Matt's cousin, business partner, King of the Shreks (camp pranks), and a constant commentator of how runt everything's gotten. Beth (Diane Lane) is a ex-camp tomboy, whose husband Rick recently died. Jack (Bill Paxton), Rick's best friend, was expelled from camp by Uncle Lou long ago, but calm rated an invitation. Jamie (Matt Craven) never really grew up, and brought his young fiance Gwen (Kimberley Williams) up for a week of fun & games. Helping Uncle Lou out is the camp maintenence man, Stick (Sam Raimi, taking a hilarious step from tedious the camera) . Through the week, these friends reconnect, relive camp memories (first kiss), pulling camp gags (short-sheeting, hand-in-warm-water, etc.), participating in camp activities (the Tamakwa-thon), and working out their various problems. Over these precedings looms the prospect of Uncle Lou closing the camp for ample. Everyone does an admirable job; you can actually feel their joy and distress. The photography is beautiful; the washed-out opening credits give plot to the awesome colors of the woods in early autumn. The DVD edition says fullscreen, but is thankfully, and deservingly, in WIDESCREEN. This is a laughable, touching film filled with the ongoing process of 'growing pains', and it's a special tribute for 'campers' and ex-campers alike. Pack your gear, it's definitely worth the scoot.
"Indian Summer" isn't the sort of film I normally recognize. A light comedy about the innocence of childhood contrasted with the problems of adulthood, the film engages in deep sentimentality on a regular basis. I am rarely suckered in by sappy, syrupy movies. "Indian Summer" is different; I first saw the film on cable wait on in the early 1990s and like a flash learned to like its ensemble cast, improbable scenery, and amusing moments. Since I usually gaze fear films, the irony of viewing a movie situation at a summer camp where no one expires at the hands of a machete wielding madman serene makes me chuckle. When I stumbled over a DVD version of "Indian Summer" recently, I knew I had to revisit the movie. I suspected I wouldn't bask in it as grand as I did ten years ago. I was depraved. The movie resonates even more deeply because I am ten years older than when I first saw it. I never went to summer camp as a child, except for a weekend pause as portion of a sixth grade project, but I can completely identify with many of the movie's themes nonetheless. I reflect most of us tend to idealize memories of our childhood even if the recollections aren't as poignant as we would like to mediate. "Indian Summer" captures perfectly this tendency and throws it befriend at you with a few laughs.
The owner of Camp Tamakwa, "Uncle" Lou Handler (Alan Arkin), has finally decided to sell his summer camp and retire. He feels that the kids today don't identify with him like they once did, so he wants to travel on. Before he sells, though, he decides to acquire a reunion at the camp and invite as many of his venerable guests as he can. Only seven exhibit up: Jamie Ross (Matt Craven), Beth Warden (Diane Lane), Jack Belston (Bill Paxton), Jennifer Morton (Elizabeth Perkins), Brad Berman (Kevin Pollack), Matthew Berman (Vincent Spano), and Kelly Berman (Jennifer Warner) . Ross brings along his young girlfriend Gwen Daugherty (Kimberly Williams), which brings the total to eight. All seven of these people are now in their thirties, with busy lives in the city and a host of adult problems. For example, Brad and Matthew Berman urge a clothing company, but Matt wants out so he can pursue his dream of becoming an artist. His wife Kelly, whom he met at the camp as a child, has issues with Matt that could very well lead to divorce. Beth Warden's husband recently passed away, so she has serious recovery issues with which to deal. Jamie Ross is an arrogant dolt that treats women as objects, perhaps due to some inferiority issues and a dismay of growing older. Jennifer Morton is the chain-smoking cynic who has yet to glean a husband. And Jack Belston was the one kid kicked out of camp for an unspecified incident, and whose life has since been one long downward spiral.
Camp Tamakwa might not heal all wounds, but it will fix many a pickle. As Uncle Lou runs the adults through the daily routine of summer camp, such as sailing, swimming tests, hikes, boxing, and foot races, the obsolete identities of childhood originate to reassert themselves. The group complains about the lousy food, play practical jokes on one another (called "shrecks," for some reason), and generally reconnect with the notable things in life. Gradually, problems that seemed insurmountable and best left unsaid in the city approach out at Tamakwa. We notice why Lou kicked Belston out of camp, and notice the order resolved. Brad and Matt hash out their business problems, and Kelly learns to stand up to her husband in the boxing ring. Beth learns to face the death of her loved one head on with a puny succor from Jack Belston. Gwen Daugherty, although not a member of the Tamakwa clique, learns to stand up to her domineering boyfriend and accomplish her issues heard. And the whole group gets a lot of laughs by poking fun at Lou's clumsy helper Stick Coder (Sam Raimi) . By the time the campers leave, they have a better rob on their personal issues.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Indian Summer! Click Here
Director and scriptwriter Mike Binder has fashioned an immensely delicious report with "Indian Summer." It is tough to develop an ensemble movie with characters and status threads as well developed as they are here. By the destroy of the movie, you know these characters intimately. All the actors do a honorable job, but special mention goes to Alan Arkin, Kevin Pollack, Bill Paxton, and Julie Warner. I cannot remember a film where Arkin failed to turn in a bravura performance, and he does so again as the benevolent father figure Lou Handler. Paxton has the worried drifter role down pat, and Pollack charms with his usual humor (no William Shatner impressions here, unfortunately) . The incredibly fair Julie Warner never fails to win my watch in any film she is in. She was probably the reason I watched the recount in the first residence. The best portion of the film happens at the beginning when the adults near at the camp and the scenery's colors suddenly explode into brilliant brilliancy. What a spacious scheme to indicate the dreariness of adult life compared to the memories of childhood!
"Indian Summer" is definitely worth seeing. Unfortunately, the DVD doesn't have any extras, not even a commentary track from some of the actors, which would have been nice. I really ought to cease renting this one and fair remove a copy. Of course, I would have to cover it leisurely a mountain of panic movies on the shelf unprejudiced in case anyone I know happened to study it sitting there. I have a reputation to protect, after all. Give "Indian Summer" a glimpse the next time you're in the video store. Chances are you will probably be pleased it.
wine cooler refrigerator
steam pressure washer

Ippo and Sendo go at it one more time with Sendo's Japan Featherweight Championship Belt at statke. Sendo was looking to erase memories of his loss to Ippo in this match and exhibit to everyone that he was the best featherweight in Japan.

This has got to be one of my favorites of all time.

The second movie in Columbia's newest wave of World War II movies (along with "The Caine Mutiny") is the 1961 Academy Award-winning film for Best Special Effects, "The Guns of Navarone," which stars Gregory Peck as Keith Mallory, the leader of a group of British commandos tasked with destroying two mountainous German anti-ship guns.
The British are desperate to evacuate 2,000 soldiers from the Aegean island of Kiros, with the only sea route through a stretch of water commanded by the guns that are encased inside a massive cliffside bunker that is immune to air attack.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Guns of Navarone! Click Here
Based on the best selling unusual by Alistair (Where Eagles Dare) MacLean, Mallory has been working on occupied Crete for two years and as an expert mountaineer is the perfect choice to ferry the team to the only fragment of Navarone not monitored by the Germans - a 400-foot cliff.
Joining Peck is David Niven as explosives expert John Anthony Miller and Anthony Quinn as a Greek resistance fighter.
MacLean is known for being able to weave together a vast sage and this movie is consistently though-provoking. In fact the film was already afforded a ample special release on DVD in 2000. Columbia though have outdone themselves with this 2-disc area by adding a second audio commentary and four unusual documentaries.
The new release included a rather dry, faltering, but informative commentary by director J. Lee Thompson, a smattering of archival featurettes of varying quality and an anecdotal documentary on the making of the characterize featuring on-camera interviews with Gregory Peck, Anthony Quinn, James Darren and J. Lee Thompson named "Memories of Navarone" and running at 29:34. It's a nice, breezy documentary and arresting - detailing some of the experiences the cast had working on the describe.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Guns of Navarone! Click Here
However this fresh release includes a entertaining commentary with historian Stephen J. Rubin who mentions that this film started the trend of Hollywood going outdoors. Up until this time most movies were filmed on the studios backlot, whereas this movie was filmed on the island of Rhodes. He also discusses the cast (including a very young Richard Harris) . Rubin also discusses some of the differences between the MacLean new and the movie - which appear to be a number of changes to characterization and details some of the criticisms of the movie when it was released - including the fact that the actors were too ragged to play commando's, many being as they were in their 40s and 50s. Though Rubin lickety-split adds that he feels it was cast perfectly.
Also included are two modern documentaries, the first of these "Forging the Guns of Navarone" runs at 13:58 and includes on camera interviews with Eve Williams-Jones (the aged wife of producer Carl Foreman) and Assistant Director Peter Yates (who himself went on to become a very successful director in his gain fair) . Apparently Thompson was not the new director for the project and Yates credits Thompson for his ability to jump straight into a film that had already shot remarkable of its second unit work as well as his ability to manage so many mammoth name actors. Yates also reveals that despite their on-screen animosity towards each other, both Niven and Peck got along well together certain to have as remarkable fun as possible on the report. Yates also recounts how the crew would refer to it as "The biggest B-feature ever made."
The second fresh documentary "The Ironic Myth of Heroism" runs longer at 23:38 and is essentially an on-camera analysis of the movie by famed Film Historian Sir Christopher Frayling (who was mistakenly credited with providing an audio commentary in the press release for this DVD release) . Frayling is quite entertaining as he recounts such facts as Foreman's initial reluctance to handle the project. Foreman once said that he was incapable of making a movie that did not gain statements and he initially saw the MacLean book as a simple action adventure. It was not until he re-read the new that he realized it could assist to construct statements about the futility of war and the ability of war to bring out the best in people.
Frayling also reflects on the fact that the movie was the first global production caper-style World War II movie to be played as an action adventure in a style he describes as "incredibly innovative."
Also included on this modern release is the restored intermission with win that was seen in some European cities (it is listed as an extra since it is not fraction of the official prick of the movie) and featurettes on the Dimitri Tiomkin secure which details the subtle differences throughout the movie and a entertaining inspect at the UCLA restoration.
The restoration featurette details the tortured path towards restoring a film that was in such awful shape that they needed several sources of unusual negative, both from Columbia and a private collector. In an example of the work the UCLA team had to do, the print they were provided by Columbia had the plane smash at the beginning of the movie happen in spacious daylight. This apparently is how most people have seen the scene in original years. That was until one of the eagle-eyed team at UCLA noticed that one of the trucks had it's headlights on and wondered why. Certain enough they were able to track down a copy of the print from a private collector that showed that the demolish happened at night with the veil various shades of blue - and that is how it was restored.
In another instance the print UCLA had also had the bad dubbing of Richard Harris where the censor had the word "bloody" replaced with "ruddy" for some of the screenings in the UK (the word "bloody" is considered a yelp word in the UK) . The UCLA team prevailed again and were able to locate a copy of the suitable audio smooth intact) .
On a sidenote the DVD also affords fans of Tiomkin the opportinity to hear the opening sequence sans the fable as a special feature on the second disc. This apparently is a special feature that had been requested for years.
The Guns of Navarone is a astonishing film that touches upon the pronounce of how difficult it can be to create upright choices during the course of a war. The screenplay is appealing in the sense that every major character in the film has their bear notions of fair how far they should go in applying the primary force "to gain the job done" in a war.

The movie is about six saboteurs who must demolish two expansive guns, which reveal a anguish to the Allied Navy. At the very beginning of the movie, viewers immediately have their first taste of a good pickle when Commodore Jensen, the organizer of the mission, has to choose between sending six great men to an almost disastrous and suicidal mission or simply scrapping the mission and leaving 2,000 trapped British soldiers to a definite doom. Commodore Jensen sees the choice as a foregone conclusion and thus resorts to lying to the leaders of the mission in order to boost their confidence. Jensen however does feel the difficulty of leadership as he tells a fellow officer "I'm impartial a man who has to send men off to die".

The six saboteurs each have their original specialties and views of morality. The first saboteur is Captain Mallory, the best mountain climber in the world and a competent linguist. Captain Mallory is a soldier who now has a utilitarian thought of the world and no longer sees the world as gloomy or white. The second saboteur is Major Roy Franklin who is known for his luck and determination. Roy is as focused to the mission as Mallory, only he does not appear to be so in the eyes of his friend Corporal Miller, the third saboteur. Corporal Miller is the self-righteous chemical explosives expert whose philanthropic perception of the world directs his loyalty only to his friends and himself. The fourth is Private Brown "the Butcher of Barcelona" whose specialties are working with engines and using a knife. Although Brown is a seasoned weak with many kills under his belt, he has become wary of the war. The fifth saboteur is Colonel Stavros. Stavros, like Mallory and Franklin, focuses to the task at hand, but is also ever thoughtful of his personal vendettas. Finally, the last saboteur is Private Pappadimos, whom Jensen describes as a "born killer".

The right views of the six saboteurs will clash with each other several times during the movie as they debate about how to conduct a war and deal with human life. The factual perceptions even indicate to be the undoing of some of the men. The beauty of the movie is that ultimately the ongoing theme of morality further extends to the two women who later join the mission. Even the Germans are not exempt from this theme as the "normal" German soldier's character contrasts itself sharply from that of the inhumane SS officer.

It is not surprisingly to rep that many world leaders like watching The Guns of Navarone, since here is a film that touches upon an yell that is constantly ever-present in their minds. The burden of choosing the fates of others is after all, a burden that is felt by both the commander and the individual soldier alike.

The superbit version of The Guns of Navarone is an improvement over the first regular DVD release. The noticeable improvement is found mainly in the sound. A particular standout scene in terms of sound is where Stavros uses his sniper rifle to give screen against the advancing German Army. The superbit represent quality while an improvement over the regular DVD release, is not as noticeably ample as the superbit sound quality.
leather briefcases
womens mountain bike

It is melancholy that this collection of Universal Dracula films were only released in this mega-DVD collection as a means of promoting the film Van Helsing, but the primary thing is that they were released - including the inimitably queer House of Dracula on DVD for the first time. This collection inspired its absorb kind of bloodlust in my Dracula-loving heart, and I imagine all fans of Dracula and Universal's classic monsters movies of the 30s and 40s have either already purchased this spot or are saving up the money to do so. Fair search for at the bounty of riches included here: the current 1931 classic Dracula starring Bela Lugosi, which you can notion with both its novel find as well as the unusual earn aloof by Philip Glass and performed by the Kronos Quartet; the extraordinary and technically good Spanish language version of Dracula; Dracula's Daughter (1936) ; Son of Dracula (1943) starring Lon Chaney, Jr.; House of Dracula (1945) ; an fresh documentary, The Road to Dracula, discussing the making of the English and Spanish versions of the unique film; a commentary by film historian David J. Skal on the modern film; theatrical trailers for the films; and, last and certainly least, a stare at how the novel Dracula franchise influenced director Stephen Sommers in the making of his novel film Van Helsing.
I waited a long time to glance the Spanish version of the Dracula, and it lived up to its reputation. A noteworthy more complete and compelling version of the film, aided by an additional half hour running time, this movie equals or excels the English language version of the film in all ways - except, of course, for the performance of Bela Lugosi, who simply is Count Dracula. As for the Lugosi version, I'm torn between the two scores. As a traditionalist, I tend to favor the new come by, but determined scenes, particularly those piquant Dracula's predatory arrive to his victims are made worthy more much with the addition of the Glass derive. Either device, though, Bela Lugosi is the main attraction, and his iconic performance defines Count Dracula to this very day.
The three Dracula sequels vary in quality, none of them living up to the reputation of the unusual. Dracula's Daughter takes the anecdote in an bright direction, giving us a vampire who seeks abet in freeing herself of the Dracula curse, and Gloria Holden gives a formidable and nuanced performance as the daughter of the Count. Son of Dracula, on the other hand, magnificent worthy lays an egg in my understanding. The only consuming thing about this movie is the debate over the upright identity of the Count - is he Dracula? the son of Dracula? a relative of Dracula? In the ruin, it really doesn't matter, but it seems positive that the blood of Bela Lugosi's Count Dracula certainly doesn't race in the veins of "Count Alucard" because this novel bloodsucker on the block isn't the smartest vampire in the castle. Many Dracula fans will of course be aware of the fact that Lon Chaney, Sr., was the current choice to play Dracula in the 1931 film; his death opened the diagram for the relatively unknown Bela Lugosi to occupy on the role he had already played hundreds of time on stage. In Son of Dracula, Lon Chaney, Jr., gets the chance to don the cape; Chaney earned his area of fame in the Universal monster pantheon, but he didn't salvage it as the Count - his performance is nothing short of tedious, aided not one iota by a surprisingly used script from the hand of Curt Siodmak.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dracula - The Legacy Collection (Dracula / Dracula! Click Here
The addition of House of Dracula to The Dracula Legacy Collection is a very astronomical deal, for this is the first time this film has found its plot to DVD. House of Dracula is a really unusual film, as this sequel of sorts to House of Frankenstein features not only Count Dracula, but Frankenstein's monster and the Wolf Man as well. John Carradine plays a quite pedestrian Count Dracula, while Lon Chaney, Jr., plays the Wolf Man; Frankenstein's monster is played by Glenn Unusual, but the monster plays only the most minor of roles in the anecdote. The action takes residence in Vasaria (wherever that is), where Dr. Franz Edelman (Onslow Stevens) is pursuing his fill rather wacky scientific experiments, placing expansive hope on some modern kind of spore he is growing in his private exiguous hothouse. Both Count Dracula and Larry Talbot (the Wolf Man) advance seeking his help; Talbot's wish to banish the Wolf Man manifestation from his life is understandable, but Dracula's reasons for seeking back are never made determined. In the course of trying to assist these two special patients, Edelman runs into the body of Frankenstein's monster in a cave underneath his sanitarium (in a rather ho-hum fashion, no less) . As you might demand, this association with three monsters turns out to be a unpleasant thing, leaving Edelman in a radiant dreadful fix himself. It's somewhat difficult to buy this movie seriously, but it does provide some wacky trustworthy fun in a campy sort of contrivance.
There is a diminutive risk eager with purchasing The Dracula Legacy Collection, but the rewards are worth the risk. Unprejudiced be careful opening the case - even if both of the DVDs (one of which is double-sided) remain in dwelling, you are likely to fetch a slight knob underneath each one objective dying for the chance to scratch a disc.
THE DRACULA LEGACY collection is a nice package including the unique DRACULA starring Bela Lugosi in an iconic movie that endures on. Also included are the Spainish version of DRACULA (shot on the same sets at night as Bela's version!), the sequels -- DRACULA'S DAUGHTER, SON OF DRACULA, and HOUSE OF DRACULA (all three monsters exhibit up for the finale) . You earn five movies, and some ample extras. Like many reviewers I found one disc rolling around the inside of the package. Fortunately it was not scratched! That's the only downside to these collections I have found.
You fetch the 1931 unusual appearance of a cinematic DRACULA! With two soundtrack options - listen to it in its modern almost quiet version, or chose the revamped Phillip Glass soundtrack version.

Todd Browning who directed this classic was foremost a tranquil film maker, and DRACULA was designed to be shown in theatres with and without sound. So its almost creepier and more effective to search for it with its long spooky silences intact. But Glass is a ample musician, and I enjoy his soundtrack as well. It really depends on mood. And for fun check out the SPAINISH version which ancient the same sets. Beautifully shot, and considered by some technically valid to Browning's film! Intense and view provoking, I felt this film explores our world through the len of the shadow and leaves us looking at the roots of our world's problems. If you are alive to in piquant foward in your spiritual life and shifting consciousness, I highly recommend seeing this film. Their lessons work astronomical because he ends up going on a dream date, also getting attention from other young women. Laurie then becomes concerned that Wendell will ask her to go valid, but he confides that he would like to play the field instead.

Rob Reiner guest star in "A man called Snake". Because a young biker man camps out after Keith blabs erroneous information about his sister's appreciate life to a teen magazine, this is one of the creepier shows. Laurie ultimately goes to the dance with him after initially being weirded out by the attention. This is one of the episodes which (despite the eminent guest star) does not acquire up well. The family seems unaware that the `sensitive poet' could actually injure Laurie.

The family has better luck when they consume up a hitchhiker named Jenny (Merideth Baxter Birney) during "Where do mermaids go". She seems nice enough, but when she leaves a bank book containing one million after a few days at their house, Shirley becomes suspicious. She thinks that the money could have been stolen. As it turns out, the money really was Jenny's to give, but the Partridge family was ultimately happiest being a suburban family who happened to move with a psychedelic bus.

Finally, Ray Bolger (the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz) guest stars as Grandpa Fred Renfrew in "The fourty-year itch". Wanting to live a more youthful life, Grandpa shows up at his daughter's house impartial as the Partridges are about to launch yet another tour. Things heat up when Grandma arrives, but everything is nicely resolved at the slay of the legend.

This series is a must for anybody wanting to recall a neat groovy return move down memory lane.

Long copy good battles have kept this note from continuing to release the remaining seasons. The first season included lost gems like "Together" and "Let the Helpful Times in" and the release of season two opened the door for more lost songs and the original Chris.

I'm tickled they released this season, with all music intact. Now if the can net the rights to the songs in the remaining seasons, lets hope they attain the series! Advance on! Do us glad!

***Review Update***

As fans probably already know, they have released the remaining seasons with all music intact!

*** Extinguish of Update***
Facial Cleanser
Canvas Storage Boxes

I loved this movie. It was totally bonkers: a human baby accidently ends up on the north pole and grows up among the elf community that supports Santa Claus. Buddy, as he comes to be known, knows that he's "special" however, since he can't maintain up with the other elves. Never mind the fact that he's about three times as big as any of them and barely fits in the shower.
When he's 30, and smooth young by Elf standards, he learns that he's really a human. Buddy decides to go in search of his father (who's on Santa's mischievous list), to score out where he belongs. He walks to Recent York (through the Lincoln tunnel), and is immediately race over by a cab. The chain of events starts at that moment ...
Buddy is a scrumptious and inspiring character with many special talents and a childish personality. He is naive to the point of stupidity, but charming all the while. His lovable demeanour gains him friends in spite of his clumsy efforts. He is sweet, kind and great. When his father at first rejects him, Buddy ends up in a department store where other elves (people who pretend to be Santa's elves) are working, and stays up all night to decorate the situation. When the department store Santa isn't the exact Santa, well, you can guess what happens ...

Buy,Download, Or Stream Elf! How will Buddy rescue the day? When Santa crashes his sleigh in Central Park, it's Buddy's moment to shine.
Abstract, exciting, child-like madness all develop up this blooming movie. Absolutely delectable and recommended to viewers of all ages. If you want a Christmas feel-good movie, this is it.
First of all, this was the funniest film I have ever seen; I was in tears half design through. Yes, it is a kids' movie, but adults earn to glimpse Will Farrel rip the heart out of Christmas by camping it up and being ridiculously proper. Watching Farrel initiate a fight with a counterfeit Santa for "sitting on a throne of lies" is about as fun as films gather.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Elf!

This unusual moving adaptation of Ben Hur, has but one thing to recommend, namely the jabber of Charlton Heston. It is palatable to hear his well-known assert as he reprises his oscar winning role.
The animation is rather on the low side by disney standards but as long as you don't peek this expecting too remarkable you won't be dissapointed. Having a running length of 75 mins however liberties have to be taken with the space as it progresses like a flash from scene to scene, although it is supposed to be the most faithful version of Lew Wallace's fable to date.
Highlights include the sea battle and ofcourse the chariot bustle sequence which are enhanced through cgi but yet again they are only short segments.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Ben Hur! It is particularly nice to study the role of Christ expanded upon from what we watch of him in previous versions.
DVD features though few are nice as we inspect heston talking tedious the scenes although he looks extremely unwell and outmoded.
Over all this unusual racy legend is a runt treat for fans of Heston and the fable of Ben Hur.
This film will give the whole family a immense corpulent length tale to be pleased.
